1 down 2 to go!! Fury need wins over Sydney and Mariners

Getty Images- Townsville Bulletin
With a miss kick of the ball by Pasfield in the 3rd minute, Fury looked to be better off when Akoto got tackled from behind and subsequently giving Phoenix the ball for another "Gift", slotting it just over Pasfield's hand hitting the wood work before rebounding in, making the Phoenix 2nil up in the first 13 minutes.

With a rough start to what was a promising away campaign, Fury should be trying to put that one behind them, as they look onwards and upwards to get their second win of the season. As last season's Champions, Sydney, have not yet secured a single win this season.

Let's hope the physiotherapists and Sport Scientists, Pete Fowler, Paul Parker and Luis Resa, are hard at work on the boys, to get them ship-shape for another win on the board, and make sure last season's Champions don't get a chance to climb the ladder.

I'll keep you updated with any news from NQ Fury whilst away for the next week with two games left in as many days.

C'mon FURY!!!

8 Days - 3 Games: We Need Wins Away

With a few too many defeats after a great start to our second season, they need at least 2 wins out of the 3 away to get back into the top half of the ladder. With the adding of Pete Fowler, the new Sports Scientist/ Fitness Coach replacing Alan McCall (whom went to Liverpool FC for Sports Scientist job), the 8 days away with, 3 games within, it will be tough on the youngsters. Although drawing with Victory last game, their third game in 6 days, Victory found it as tiring and warned Fury of "over-doing it". With 5 days between Phoenix and Sydney, there's only 2 3 days before the Mariners game.

Fury leave Townsville without our new additions to the Olyroos team, Chris Payne and Isaka Cernak, and now they are without Eugene Sseppuya due to a visa issue.

NEWS JUST IN!!! Paul Ifill may need to miss this game due to a strain in his Groin.

FIRE UP NORTH QUEENSLAND....!!! It's About To Get Ugly!!!

North Queensland Fury v Melbourne Victory, Dairy Farmers Stadium, Saturday, 5.15pm (EST)

This will be something to behold if these two dish up anything close to the pulsating, drama-filled encounter of four weeks ago. Fury will have revenge firmly on their mind and will relish a second crack at Victory. The bye will have them rested and ready for this one, and although they will definitely miss Cernak and Payne, they will be keen to get back on the winners' list after back-to-back defeats. Victory must back up from midweek duty where they were far from convincing and looked a little jaded. The travel and the weather won’t do them any favours either and I am sensing a Fury win.

Bye may be crucial for Daal

Hopefully having a Bye this weekend will help the Fury (and Daal) recover and rebuild the strong force that is was Fury's great opening month of this season.

The 27-year-old Dutch Striker has a slight tear in his left hamstring produced during the Fury’s 1-0 first defeat of the season, on Saturday (4 September) at AAMI Park.

An injury such as this generally requires a 2-3 week recovery period.

Let's hope this week off can help him gain strength back in his hamstring.
